Fast Friday's Motorcycle Speedway kicked off another great night of racing at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn Ca.-the second night of the 2025 season. On the program this week was the first round of the popular Team Challenge. For five rounds throughout the season Team Law Tigers and Team IFC will challenge each other in scratch races accumulating points each round for finishing positions in the heat races. These points will carry over to each round and on August 8 after the final the team with the most points will win the 2025 Fast Fridays Team Challenge.

The Team Challenge is interesting because the teams race three heats each round working together with a teammate in each race. This is different than regular speedway racing where each rider working to finish first and beat all the other riders. In team racing the pairs of teammates work together and help each other in a team effort scoring the most points each heat. Many times this means taking one for the team and giving up a possible win to support a teammate with a block. It is very exciting and fun for the riders and the fans.

In round one Team Law Tigers members Billy Janniro, Russell Green, Daniel Faria, Gregory Moore, Cody Aker and Catherine Moore tallied nine total points in the three heats behind three points for a win by Janniro, two points each for second place finishes by Faria and Catherine Moore and one point each for Aker and Gregory Moore.

For Team IFC Wilbur Hancock and Antonio Coffman picked up wins and three points each for IFC, along with a with a second place finish and two points by Broc Nicol. Darren Armbruster added one point for a third place finish for a team total of nine points. Round one ended in a 9-9 tie and a showing that the teams are very well matched and the racing in the next rounds leading up to the final will be very tight.

Eleven-time AMA National Speedway Champion Billy Janniro shook the dust off of opening night last week and was back in winning form with a first place finish and was the fastest man of the night winning the scratch main event. Janniro found his groove with a win in his first heat race. He had a second place finish in his semi-final race, his only loss in the scratch program when Broc Nicol caught him in exciting finish at the tapes by inches. He then transferred to the main event for the win. Janniro got to the lead right out of the gate and held it to the tapes but last weeks scratch main winner Broc Nicol and Russell Green were working not far behind him but were unable to catch him. Janniro rode on his back tire in a wheelie across the finish line. Green was second, Nicol was third and Wilbur Hancock was fourth.

Darren Armbruster had a perfect night in the handicap program. Riding off the 10-yard line this week Armbruster won his handicap heat race, semi-final and then the main event. Riding out front in a six lap handicap race is not an easy task with longer yardage riders working their way through the pack chasing you. Armbruster did a very good job of riding his race and keeping the other riders at bay for the six laps. Wilbur Hancock was second and Russell Green was third.

Cody Aker won the Support Main Event for the second week in a row though he had to work a little harder this week. Aker won his first heat race but finished third in his second heat race after a restart was required because of a crash between riders Tim Rott and Joseph Suplita . Aker was back in top form for the main event with the win. Catherine Moore was second and Brandon Hendrickson was third.

Jameson Hutchinson had a great night making quick work in each of his races winning both his heat races and the Youth 250cc main event. Wesley Rearick was his main challenger dogging him in each race finishing second, including the main event. Caden Cavrikas was third.

The Youth 150cc program was broke down to three divisions to accommodate the different riding skills of the youth racers. Riley Rearick repeated his win last week and won the Youth 150cc Division 1 main event. Rearick dropped his first race to Zander Schroeder with a second place finish, then found his groove with wins in his second heat and the main event.

In the Youth 150cc Division 2 main event Mason Howell was first, Leeann Emerson was second and Logan Kerr was third. William Bruce was first in the Youth 150cc Division 3 Dexter Orlando was second and Zeva Schroeder was third.

Let's not forget about the wild pee-wee division with over 25 little champions showing this week for their three races with great support from the Fast Friday's fans.
Next week Fast Friday's brings the Extreme Sidecars back for round one of five rounds this season including the AMA Extreme Sidecar National Championship on August 30. These crazy pairs of racers fire up their 1000cc motors and slide around the track with one rider hanging off the back of their three wheeled motorcycles. 	Cody Aker was on top of the Support Class again this week winning the Support Class Main Event for the second week in a row. Cody won his first heat race, was third in his second heat race and then first in the main event.
	Jameson Hutchinson picked up his first podium first place finish of the season this week in the Youth 250cc main event with a perfect night and three wins.
	The pee-wee division is healthy with over 20 little champs showing up each week to race. The pee-wees are a crowd favorite and all riders sprint to the winner's podium to pick-up their cherished trophies at the end of the evening.
	Mike Rooney is the voice of Fast Friday's each week. A veteran announcer of over 40 years and rider himself in the day Rooney keeps the crowd informed on finishes and other racing commentary. Often making jokes about the hot dog water soup in the snack bar or the adults only time in the bounce house after 9:00pm, Rooney keeps the program lively, fun and informative each week.
	Billy Janniro picked up his first scratch main event of the 2025 Fast Fridays season. Janniro won his heat race, second in his semi-final and then won the scratch main event.
	Darren Armbruster had an excellent night in the handicap program with wins in his heat race, semi-final and the handicap main event. Armbruster starts currently on the 10-yard line but look for him on the 20-yard line next week.
	The start of the third heat of the team challenge. The season long grudge match kicked off round one and ended in a 9-9 tie for Team Law Tigers and Team IFC.
	For the second week in a row Riley Rearick won the Youth 150cc main event. Riley did have a misstep dropping his first heat race to Zander Schroeder but bounced back for the main event win.
